Ever considered starting your own food-related business venture? Curious about the new and future food-related businesses springing up in our area? The Waterbury-Duxbury Food Council and Central Vermont Food Systems Council will be co-hosting a community potluck on Wednesday, April 27th from 5:30 – 8:00 pm at the Crossett Brook Middle School Cafeteria where we will hear from entrepreneurs in our community who are growing new food-related businesses. Speakers will include Scott Baughman and Lisa Ransom from GrowCompost!, Bob and Cindy Maynard from Green Mountain Garlic, and Perrin Williams from the Center Bakery who is starting a new community supported restaurant in Waterbury Center. They will talk about what inspired them to start their businesses, the challenges and pleasant surprises they’ve encountered along the way, and how the community can support these valuable local businesses.
